WATCH: Pixar’s ‘Lava’ Short Clip
Disney/Pixar has released the first clip from its upcoming short, Lava, which will play ahead of Pixar’s Inside Out (June 19, 20145). You can find the clip, courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Italy, embedded below.
Meet Uku, the star of Pixar’s newest short, Lava, a love story millions of years in the making. Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have provided us this amazing first look at one of the 7 minute, 9 second short’s main leads, Uku (voiced by Kuana Torres Kahele — also the short’s narrator). Uku’s better half, Lele is voiced by Napua Greig.
Inspired by the isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes, Lava is a musical love story that takes places over millions of years. It is directed by James Ford Murphy and will play in front of Pixar’s Inside Out, starting in theaters on June 19, 2015.
